Respect to Veterans

Respect to “VETERANS” interned in Cemeteries within Adrian Charter Township.

(Excluding Lenawee Hills Cemetery)

Please notify the Township Office if you know of a “Veteran” who is buried in a cemetery within Adrian Township.

In the last few years the Township has tried to make sure all Veterans that could be identified based on the information found on the Grave Stone would be honored.

• A VETERAN’S Grave Marker has been placed next to the grave stone.
• A new U.S.FLAG is placed in the Grave Marker prior to every Memorial Day.

Please provide the Veteran’s name and Cemetery so that burial site can be verified and we will make every attempt to honor that veteran going forward.

LENAWEE HILLS CEMETERY

Every year, the Adrian Township Fire Department places 900+ U.S. Flags next to Veterans’ grave stone the day before Memorial Day,  The following Tuesday, the flags are removed and stored until the next year.  That is done in cooperation with the Cemetery’s management.
